More Uber Pickup options for extra convenience at Melbourne Airport

Things will now look a little different when you take a ride from Melbourne Airport, with the addition of a new exclusive T1 Uber Pickup Zone at Qantas Domestic.

Combined with the existing T4 and updated T2 Uber Pickup Zones, we’re improving access across the airport to help riders get where they need, faster.

Following the successful launch of Uber’s pickup zone at Terminal 2, which has reduced wait times for riders by 50% since launching, the new Terminal 1 pickup experience will intuitively monitor demand in conjunction with available space, to provide an easier pickup experience for both riders and driver-partners. 

The new pickup zone at T1 is Uber’s latest offering in its global network of bespoke airport pickup experiences, seeking to deliver seamless passenger experiences no matter where they land across the world. 

The airport is planning to grow passenger numbers significantly in the coming years and is undergoing many infrastructure changes to help support this growth.  Uber, as a leading provider of ground transport for the airport, is supporting the airport as it implements these changes to improve the pickup experience for both riders and driver-partners. 

The new T1 Uber Pickup Zone is located right outside the Qantas terminal, at the area previously occupied by Qantas Valet.

With 10 exclusive pickup bays, riders can choose between Uber’s suite of products, including UberX on PIN at T1 Zone B for faster pickups.

Riders who select other products will be assigned in-app to a specific pickup bay as part of the recently developed Perfect Match technology, previously only available for T4 pickups.

The T2 Uber Pickup Zone will also be undergoing a refresh, with new signage and reconfiguration to help alleviate congestion across the precinct.

Many of the features that riders have come to know and love will remain in place though, headlined by UberX PIN pickups at T2 Zone B.
