Vehicle requirements in Germany

Which car is right for you? Make sure it meets the vehicle requirements in Germany, and remember that you’ll make more money if you keep your costs low.

Your vehicle must-haves

  • Meet all requirements according to BOKraft
  • At least 2 doors on the righthand side
  • In good condition without damages

Licence

  • Your vehicle must have a valid concession for commercial passenger transportation

Insurance

  • All vehicles must have commercial insurance coverage

Detailed requirements:

  • Four-door vehicle in good condition
  • At least 6 seats in addition to the driver
  • Air conditioning
  • No transporters (i.e. there must be windows next to the seats)
  • No taxi-yellow vehicles
  • No damaged or rebuilt vehicles

Van in Munich

Seat extra passengers and charge higher fares with a higher-capacity vehicle.

Detailed requirements:

  • Black van from the most recent model series
  • Seats at least 6 passengers in addition to the driver
  • Air conditioning
  • No taxi-yellow vehicles
  • No damaged or rebuilt vehicles

Black in Munich

Charge higher fares with a mid-tier luxury sedan. See the list of accepted models.

Detailed requirements:

  • Black limousine from the most recent model series
  • Leather interior
  • Seats at least 3 passengers in addition to the driver

Premium in Berlin

Premium vehicles with more legroom at higher fares.

Detailed requirements

  • Premium vehicle model equivalent or superior to Mercedes E-Class
  • Maximum 4 years old, on an annually rolling basis (i.e., vehicles used for Premium trips in year 2020 must be built in 2017 or later)
  • Air conditioning
  • No taxi-yellow vehicles
  • No damaged or rebuilt vehicles

Taxi in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg and Stuttgart

To qualify for a taxi, your vehicle must be registered as a Taxi and include a commercial insurance coverage.
