Meet UberX Share

UberX Share is a new type of booking option for two riders going in similar directions to share a ride.

How UberX Share works

1. You’ll see a request for UberX Share in the app for your first rider, just like with UberX. As always, the ride option is displayed at the top of the offer card, so you’ll know it’s an UberX Share request.
2. When you accept an UberX Share trip, the Driver app will search for ways to pick up more riders for more earnings along the route.
3. You’ll be notified if another rider is added to your trip, and your route will update automatically.
4. If a rider doesn’t arrive at the pickup location within 2 minutes, you’ll have the option to cancel and collect the cancellation fee.

  We are limiting pickups to no more than 2 co-riders at a time.

  Earn UberX fares or more– if only one rider joins the trip, you’ll earn regular UberX fares. In case a second rider joins, your earnings will increase accordingly.

  If a rider doesn’t arrive within 2 minutes, you’ll have the option to cancel and receive the cancellation fee.

  The Driver app will search for two riders going in similar directions to share a ride along the way of a typical UberX trip. You’ll be notified when another rider is added and your route will update automatically – it’s that easy!

Your choice

Not interested in UberX Share trips? No problem, you can go at any time decline an UberX Share trip request, or cancel it at any time.

You therefore have the same flexibility as for any other trip requests on the Uber app.
