This holiday season, Uber Canada is teaming up with Goodwill® again to make donating easier.

We know finding time to make it to your local donation centre during the holidays can be tough, so we’re bringing Goodwill® to you. This Thursday, December 18th from 10AM-5PM, you can request a free, on-demand donation pickup of winter clothing in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto!

We’re bringing the #UberClothingDrive to your doorsteps. Tell your friends!

Already use Uber?
Awesome! Just open your app on Thursday, December 18th between 10AM-5PM and you’ll see the new option called ‘DONATE’

“During this holiday season, we are excited to partner with Uber to extend the spirit of giving, bringing Goodwill to those who wish to donate, but aren’t always able to. The donations collected help create jobs, enable work opportunities and provide skills development for people in the local community who face barriers to employment.”
Derek Gamelin, Senior Director of Donations and Donor Relations, Goodwill Industries of Toronto, Eastern, Central and Northern Ontario.

“In Alberta, the donations collected allow us to expand our mission of connecting Albertans with disabilities to meaningful employment.”
– John Gebbie, Chief Operating Officer, Goodwill industries of Alberta.

THE DETAILS:

  • All clothing must be bagged for drivers to accept your donation
  • Drivers will arrive at your requested pick-up location. Please keep in mind drivers can’t leave vehicles unattended, so we ask that you bring your bagged clothing out to meet your driver when they arrive.

Since Goodwill will be coming to you, use this as an opportunity to donate more than just a few things. Go through your closets and find everything you and your family no longer wear, then add it to the bag — or bags!

It’s the giving season and we expect there to be high demand, so please be patient. If you’ve already cleaned out your closet or if the promotion isn’t happening in your hometown, you can still help your local Goodwill® by making a monetary donation here.

Goodwill® helps people who are striving to earn paycheques, build their careers, support their families and build stronger communities. By donating, you’re helping Goodwill® put people to work. Thank you, and Happy Holidays!
