A guide to how earnings work

On this page, you can read about different opportunities for making money by delivering using the Uber Eats app. They can help you feel confident when using the app and hitting the road.*

A breakdown of how you earn

Promotions can help you find busy areas and times

Promotions can help you identify busy areas when there’s a high demand for delivery. High demand usually means there are more opportunities for delivery requests. And if you’d like, you can take advantage of multiple promotions at once. You can always check the map and Promotions section in the app for the latest offers.

Boost zones

What you earn:

Base fare x number shown in Boost zone

Ex: $4 base fare x 1.6 Boost = $6.40

How you earn:

Pick up a delivery from a Boost zone.

How to check for Boost:

Available Boost zones are announced weekly in the promotions section of Trip Planner in the app. You can also check the map in the app for available Boost zones.

Surge zones

What you earn

Base fare + surge dollar amount

How you earn

The surge amount applies if you pick up a delivery from a surge zone or accept a delivery when you’re in a surge zone. You’ll always receive the higher of the 2.

How to check for surge

Look for surge zones on the map. Surge zones update in real time based on demand, so they usually appear during lunchtime, dinnertime, and when people order in due to weather.

Quest goals

What you earn:

An extra cash reward on top of base fares and other offers

How you earn:

Complete the Quest goal within a certain time period.

How to check for Quest:

Tap the promotions section of Trip Planner in the app for Quest goals. New goals may appear daily.
