Your comprehensive guide to Uber promos

Having trouble with your promo code? Read on to know everything about your Uber promo and start riding like a pro!

Have a promo code? Enter it anytime before a trip ends for the promotion amount to be applied to that trip’s fare. To enter a promo code simply follow the steps below.

Promo codes are automatically applied in reverse order (basis eligibility and validity of the promo). Your most recently added promo code will be applied to your current or next trip.

To check whether a promo code has been applied on your trip you can do one of the following.

1. On your e-mail

Simply check under the discounts section of your Uber receipt, which is sent after every trip via e-mail to your registered email ID.

2. On your Uber app

If your promo code did not work, check for the following.

1.Were you eligible for the promo?

Whenever you’re eligible for a promo, we’ll let you know via an SMS, email or push notification. If you received the promo from a friend, on the internet, etc. your account may not be eligible for it.

2.Has the promo expired?

Check the validity under Menu > Payments > Promotions and check if the promo is still active. Some promotions may have expiration dates or only apply in specific areas or cities. To review all promo codes currently applied to your account, select ‘Payment’ from the app menu and then tap ‘Promotions’. Details and expiration dates are listed here.

3. Did your trip meet the promo criteria?

Some promotions are only applicable on certain products, cities, payment methods or areas. Double-check your promo message to ensure that your trip meets the promo criteria.

4. Has the promo already been used?

It’s a good idea to check your previous few trips to ensure that the promo has not already been used.

5. Did you apply the promo correctly?

In order for any promotional discount to be applied to a trip fare, you must enter the promo code before or during the trip. Moreover, the value of any promo code can only be applied to one trip. Any leftover value will not apply to your next trip.

You can earn free rides by inviting friends to sign up and ride with Uber. To see your invite code, tap FREE RIDES in the app menu.

When a friend signs up with your invite code, they’ll receive Rs.150 off their first three rides. After they’ve completed a first ride, your next three rides will be free (up to Rs.150). Referral promotion codes are applicable to an invited user’s first ride, and are not intended for existing users.

Share your code by tapping ‘Invite Friends’ and then selecting one of the options available, including texting, emailing, sharing on social media. You can customize your invite code on riders.uber.com under PROFILE.
