Starting August 27, there’s a new heatmap on the Driver app home screen in select US cities (see list below). It shows you where you can go online instantly—and where demand is high. Busier areas may help you get trips quicker so you can make the most of your time on the road.
How do I read the heatmap?
Each outlined area on the map is a delivery zone and the color shows how busy it is in real-time. Here’s the demand that each color represents:
- 🟥 Red – High demand with lot of delivery request
- 🟧 Orange – Medium demand with frequent delivery requests
- 🟨 Yellow – Low demand with fewer delivery requests
- ⚪️ Grey – Only open to Platinum and Diamond couriers
The heatmap updates every 10 minutes to provide the most up to date and real-time information on demand in your city.

How do I navigate to a zone?
The heatmap is designed to help you find zones where the demand is high and you can expect to see more orders. Tap the zone icon to see the name of the zone or navigate to a busy zone. Once you hit Navigate, the app will guide you to the zone of your choice.

What happens when I go online?
Once online in your selected zone, the heatmap will switch to the online view showing busy restaurants and stores nearby—so you spend less time waiting for delivery requests.

What’s the difference between offline and online heatmap?
