Name Ville | Age 29 years | Role Marketing Manager, Uber Nordics
“I was studying in Stockholm by the time when Uber launched and we got a bunch of new user promo codes to try it out with my friends. We had two birthday parties that weekend and since UberBlack was the only product, I remember us balling around the city in black, sleek Mercedes rides. We must have taken like 10 rides that weekend alone, haha!“

Ville is responsible for Driver Marketing across the Nordics, based in Helsinki. His role is to ensure Uber is the best option for its driver partners. Before Ville moved back to Helsinki, he studied and worked in Stockholm for almost 5 years. His previous work was at a medical device startup where they created a smart cap for insulin pens. Helping people living with diabetes more safe and simple day-to-day.
He got into Uber because he really wanted to work at a tech company with a real startup culture that solved real-world problems. Needless to say Uber has delivered on that! Ville finds that the absolute best part working for Uber is the scale we are able to create flexible earning opportunities.
“It’s pretty amazing how the app is not your boss and you can go online and earn on your own schedule. In a platform business like ours, the challenges, and the best part is to continuously improve that 5-star experience for riders and drivers alike.“
