We’ve all been saddened by the recent horrific events in London and Manchester. In these trying times, it’s more important than ever to recognise the humanity, kindness and strength in our communities.
Thank you to all of you who went above and beyond during these incidents – it has been truly humbling to hear stories from riders of partners helping people to safety and bringing hope and comfort when people needed it most.
We’d like to share some of these stories. While we’ve featured just a few, we’re incredibly proud of everyone who lent their support.

Nadzy Fais
Following news of the Manchester attack, Nadzy received messages from his family asking him to come home. Instead, he stayed in the city centre to help. Nadzy took riders to safety for free and thoughtfully gave each of them a rose. As a rider said: "[He] gave out roses to remind everyone that we do care about each other. He's a credit to Uber, to Manchester, and was the little bit of light that I needed to see that night.”

A grateful rider told us about Raj’s actions following the attacks in London: “Despite Raj's wife's plea for him to come home, he stayed on the road and drove customers home all night. It was not about the money. He even refused our tips. Raj said it was about helping people when they needed it the most.”

Ali Galil Noggaas
Ali was very close to the London Bridge attack when it happened and saw people running towards him crying and screaming. Despite being scared and not knowing what was unfolding, he bravely stayed in the area to help as many people as he could, picking them up for free and dropping them away from danger.

Ramzi Abubakar
While in the London Bridge area helping riders, Ramzi was approached by an elderly woman needing to get back to her hotel. She was shaken by the events of the night, and as a visitor, unfamiliar with the area, Ramzi drove as close to her hotel as he could with the road closures. He then parked nearby and walked her all the way to the hotel safely.

AJ Singh
AJ found out about the attack when his friend phoned to see if he was ok. He jumped straight in his car and headed to city centre, putting a sign in his window that read ‘Free Taxi if Needed’ He took riders wherever they needed to go - to hospitals, home or to look for loved ones. Proud to be part of the Manchester family, AJ wanted to make sure people got the help they needed.
There are so many more partners who have acted heroically in recent weeks and these are just a few of the stories that we have heard.
Thank you from all of us.
