Introducing digital tasks: a new way to earn

We’re piloting a new way to earn with Uber. Later this year, select drivers and couriers across the US can make money by completing digital tasks directly in the Driver app—no driving or delivering required.

Ever wish you could make some money without hitting the road? Now you can.

Whether you’re out and about or relaxing at home, you can occasionally complete digital tasks in the Driver app when you’re not taking trips.

As part of this pilot, you may be asked to complete any of the following tasks: 

Each task takes only a few minutes. Over time, you’ll see a wider variety of tasks, giving you more opportunities to earn.

Tasks are only available to drivers and couriers who’ve opted in. Once you sign up, you’ll occasionally see invitations to complete digital tasks in the Opportunity Center. But since tasks are offered according to our clients’ needs, you might not always see them.

When tasks are available, you can view the full list—including time and earnings estimates—before you begin. Each task is optional, so you can choose the ones that work best for you. After you complete a task, your earnings will be added to your balance within 24 hours.

Uber connects you with companies that need real people to help improve their technology. By completing short digital tasks across different languages and topics, you’ll help make their products smarter—while earning extra through the Uber app.

If you’re eligible for digital tasks, you’ll see the option in your Work Hub. From there, follow a few quick steps in the app to opt in. No extra experience required.

If you don’t see digital tasks in your Work Hub yet, don’t worry—more opportunities will be available soon. Access is limited during this pilot—so if it’s available in your app, you can be one of the first to try it out as an extra way to make money.
