What model is the car seat, and does it meet safety standards?

In NYC, vehicles used for Uber Car Seat will have a Nuna RAVA car seat. The RAVA convertible car seat is filled with little extras like laid-back legroom, fuss-free adjustments, and the unique simply™ secure installation that makes setup a snap.

Do drivers know how to install the car seat?

In LA and NYC, all drivers who provide Uber Car Seat rides must attend a Nuna installation demonstration.

Who can ride in a RAVA seat?

You (the parent, guardian, or caregiver) are responsible for ensuring that your child meets all of the following minimum criteria, which are required to ride in the RAVA:

You (the parent, guardian, or caregiver) are also responsible for ensuring that a child doesn’t ride in the Nuna RAVA seat if the seat is not properly installed or your child is not properly secured in the seat. 

What if my child weighs more than 65 pounds or is taller than 49 inches?

Uber Car Seat rides will not be equipped with appropriate seats for these children.

How is the Nuna RAVA installed?

Nuna’s preferred installation method is the vehicle seat belt, as it eliminates confusion of when to switch from lower anchors to vehicle seat belt, fits more vehicle makes, and fits more seating positions.

You (the parent, guardian, or caregiver) are responsible for securing the child in the seat. Refer to the resources provided at the time of requesting your ride or view video installation instructions here.

Food and allergies: Please be mindful that other children who use the seat may have food allergies. Because we want this to be a safe ride for all kids, the driver may ask you to use a wet wipe to clean your child’s hands if they’ve been eating before getting in the car. As always, we recommend asking your driver before eating, or allowing your child to eat, in the vehicle.
