Uber drives you through the strike

We’re telling you, the strike on Monday is not going to stop you from getting around Brussels! Order an Uber ride and attend that very important meeting in town. Don’t miss this lunch with your good old friend. Go shopping without fear, Uber will pick you up in time. Keep moving thanks to our drivers who will be hitting the road to help you get from point A to point B in a seamless and efficient way.

Share a ride with your friends and enjoy a 50% discount on the total fare. More concretely, a 10€ ride split in 2 will cost 2.5€ per person with the discount, instead of 5€ per person. How cool is that?

The more people who share rides, the more can get to where they need to go! Demand will be high, but we’ll be there to keep Brussels moving, no matter what. Surge pricing may still come into effect at peak hours to keep more drivers on the road, but with the 50% discount, fares will still be cheaper than any normal rate.

How do I split the fare?

After entering the promo code SHAREBXLPOP in the app under “Promotions”, you need to:

Request an uberPOP
Click on the “up arrow” icon at the bottom right of the screen next to your driver’s info
Select “Split Fare”
Choose the friend(s) you want to share the costs with
Tap “Send”

Your friend(s) then:

Tap the link in the text message they get from Uber
Your friends who don’t have an Uber account will be prompted to download the app and sign up
Your Uber-savvy friends will be taken directly to the Uber app
Your friends will need to confirm they want to split your fare

That’s it!
