Get a license in Belgium
With millions of riders all over the world, Uber is a great way to make money — but first you need a license to operate in Brussels or in Flanders. Four steps are required to obtain this license.
Apply for your license
1. Obtain your VAT number
To become a partner on the Uber network, you must be self-employed (part-time or full-time) or have a company. If you want to set up a company, we advise you to reach out to an accountant who will help you in this process.
2. Find a vehicle that meets our requirements
Choosing the right vehicle is paramount: it is your most important work tool and will allow you to maximise your profitability. We accept on the Uber network vehicles with minimum 4 doors and that are maximum 7 years old (10 years in Flanders).
3. Get a commercial car insurance
In order to get your license, you will need to have an insurance that covers paid transportation. Don't hesitate to contact your broker or insurer to get more information on this.
4. Request your LVC license (Brussels) / IBPV (Flanders)
Once you have your car, insurance and VAT number, you can ask for the license of your Region.
For Brussels: Apply for a license at Brussels Mobility For Flanders: Apply via the portal
Do not forget to take into account the strict requirements regarding vehicles imposed by the authority.
