Life at Uber
At Uber, we're constantly reimagining the way the world moves. We love going after the big problems and seizing the opportunities that come with challenging work. This means we sometimes have to make trade-offs and deal with difficult decisions that must be made. But it also means that here you will have an incredible opportunity to learn and grow. We encourage you to learn by doing and drive the kind of growth that best fits you.
Uber values
Our values aren’t just our shared beliefs; they are the mindsets we embrace, the choices we make, the actions we take.
Our Return to the Office
It’s still early days as we look to find the right long-term model for Uber, yet we want this to continue being a great place for our current and future employees, and that means adapting to different needs. Our hybrid work approach focuses on increased flexibility.
Teams reimagining at Uber Seattle
- Engineering
Seattle has historically been a hub for innovation, and in turn has attracted world-class engineering talent. Our engineers work on complex, challenging, and novel problems at the intersection of technology and real world infrastructure. Seattle Engineering teams include Rider, Driver, Vehicles, Business Platform, Security, and Marketplace.
- Design
Our design studio in Seattle is working on some of the most exciting projects at Uber, working on bridging the physical and digital spaces, thinking end-to-end from service, to digital design problems, and pushing the envelope to reimagine experiences for riders and drivers.
- Data Science
Data Scientists in the Seattle office are spread across Product and Platform teams, and have the opportunity to work on the entire data science territory, including machine learning, economics, optimization, data engineering, business intelligence, customer intelligence, and data visualization.
- Operations
Our operations team owns city, country, and regional-specific business outcomes and bridges our global business strategy with local needs. Whether it is driving strategy and compliance with regulatory-related requirements, or ensuring that Uber’s users have consistently excellent experiences across product lines, the Seattle Operations team ensures all work is done to best serve our driver-partners and riders in the Pacific Northwest, and across the globe.
- Product
Product Managers on Seattle’s Driver, Rider, Platform, and Marketplace teams partner with engineers, data scientists, designers, marketers, and operation teams in launching, growing, and scaling for transportation solutions in emerging markets.
- Security
Uber's Security team works to ensure the security of all private, personal, and payment information for our full set of users, riders, drivers, and partners. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every single experience with Uber is simple, secure, and safe.
