Accelerating the future of mobility across communities

Uber Transit has invested $2.41 million to help public transport agencies, councils, and regional authorities pilot innovative on-demand mobility solutions.

Through the Uber Transit Innovation Fund, we aim to help these organisations cut costs, broaden access, and enhance their rider experience without needing to make large capital outlays.

The Uber Transit Innovation Fund

This fund has awarded up to $50,000 in funding to agencies across North America to help them trial new service models, generate real-world data, and scale up what works.

Why this is important

Meet our first group of winners

From San Antonio to San Juan, each of these forward-thinking agencies will receive funding to bring their visionary public transport solutions to life, transforming how their communities get around and thrive.

Platform wayfinding

We’ve increased the fund—here’s why.

Transit agencies need the support of their partners in the private sector. As a result, we increased our commitment and expanded the Uber Transit Innovation Fund with our second group of recipients.

51 transit agencies. 51 communities, ready to move differently.

In August 2026, we unlocked even more funding, bringing our total investment to $2.41M. This fund will support 51 total transit agencies, municipalities, and regional authorities in bringing their projects to life, and we’re stoked to see what happens next.

What we were after

Strong proposals usually focus on one or more of these approaches:

  • Complement paratransit (same-day/on-demand)
  • Supplement microtransit
  • Boost underperforming fixed-route services (off-peak/late-night)
  • Support first-mile/last-mile connections
  • Reduce service disruptions
  • Expand coverage in areas with limited public transport
  • Provide Guaranteed Ride Home and commuter programs
  • Advance social impact initiatives (e.g., senior mobility and food access)
