Deliver with Uber Eats on a bike, motorbike, or in a car.

Here’s a quick guide on how to set up your account through the Uber Driver app.

What you’ll need to start delivering

Submit your documents in the Driver app

Start your background check

Order your free personal protective equipment [motorbike and bicycle only]

Requirements

Identity Document

You’ll need to have one of the following valid identity documents:

  • Passport

  • Australian birth certificate or citizenship certificate

  • Official refugee or immigration card

  • State photo card
Driver Licence (if delivering by car or motorbike)

You must hold a valid driver licence that meets the licence requirements for your vehicle type.

Australian Driver Licence

  • Full, unrestricted licence: Accepted for car and motorbike deliveries in all states and territories.

  • Provisional (P2) licence: Accepted for car deliveries in VIC, QLD, WA, SA and TAS.

Overseas Driver Licence

You can use overseas licences for car deliveries in NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT, SA, and WA.

To use an overseas licence, you must meet these criteria:

  • Be on a temporary visa (permanent residents must convert to an Australian licence).

  • Hold a full overseas driver's licence that is valid, includes a clear photo, and displays your full legal name.

  • For non-English licences issued in China, Japan, Iran, or Egypt, please upload your licence with International Driving Permit (IDP) or NAATI-certified translation

Background check

You must have citizenship, residency or a visa that allows you to work in Australia

Delivery partners are required to pass a criminal background check through National Crime Check (NCC). This can be completed online and is usually processed within 3 days.

You’ll receive a confirmation email and a copy of your results once your background check has been processed. No further action is needed from you after submitting. NCC will share your results directly with Uber.

Personal Protective Equipment (motorbike and bicycle)

Free personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided for Delivery People using a motorbike or bike.

Once your background check is cleared, you’ll get a link in the app to order your free PPE.

You won’t be able to go online until you’ve received the free safety gear bundle.

Australian Business Number (ABN)

You’ll need to provide your ABN in the driver app.

If you don’t already have an ABN, you can register for one for free.

Training

Complete the relevant training to make sure you’re safe, as well as the community.
