Changes to delivery partner fare structure

Restaurants will not see an increase in overall costs of using the Uber Eats marketplace as a result of this change.

While consumers pay restaurants a delivery fee for each order, delivery partners are often paid more than this amount. In those cases, a discount is provided to restaurants on the Uber Eats service fee to cover this difference. Uber Eats offers this discount as a mechanism to assist a restaurant with managing the costs of using the marketplace. This discount mechanism will remain in place under the below changes to the delivery partner fare structure.

The components that make up the total Delivery Fee you pay a delivery partner for a trip are outlined below:

Delivery Fee ComponentsAmount
Base Amount
The base amount a delivery partner will charge for a trip.
Calculated on estimated delivery time, distance, and whether the trip has multiple pickup and/or drop-off points.
$5.25-$22.00
Trip Supplement
In certain circumstances, a trip supplement may apply to a trip in addition to the base amount, when there are:

  • Higher than usual estimated traffic conditions
  • Higher than usual estimated wait times at the pickup location
  • Areas with limited availability of delivery partners and higher than usual demand for delivery
$12.00
Boost
Depending on time of day, day of week, and certain events, Boost may be offered to delivery partners to help manage an increase in demand. Boost is offered as a multiplier on the Base Fare component.
Up to 2.5x of base fare
Tolls
It is sometimes necessary for delivery partners to use tollways to deliver. You agree to reimburse all tolls legitimately incurred by a delivery partner between pickup and dropoff.
Tolls are reimbursed as legitimately incurred
Total Delivery Fee invoiced by the delivery partner to the Restaurant is calculated as:
(Base Amount Boost) + Trip Supplement + Surge + Tolls
