Uberと第一交通産業株式会社（本社:北九州市、代表取締役社長:田中 亮一郎、以下「第一交通産業」）は、タクシー配車サービスにおける戦略的パートナーシップを締結いたしましたのでお知らせします。

Uberは、タクシー会社との連携を重視する戦略を打ち出しており、既に、名古屋、大阪、仙台の3都市*1にてUberアプリを通じたタクシー配車サービスを開始しています。今回、戦略的パートナーシップを締結することにより、タクシー会社との連携をさらに強化し、日本におけるより快適で効率的なタクシー乗車体験を提供してまいります。

本締結に伴い、今春以降、特定のエリア*2において、第一交通産業グループのタクシーをUberアプリを通じて手配することが可能となります。乗客は、到着時刻の共有機能、GPSによるリアルタイムでの追跡機能、同乗者との割り勘機能、過去の乗車履歴の確認機能など、世界中で数多くのユーザーにご利用いただいている機能を含む、便利でスムーズな乗車を体験いただくことが出来ます。

Uber Japan モビリティ事業 ゼネラルマネージャーのトム・ホワイトは本パートナーシップ締結にあたり、次のように述べています。「日本のタクシー業界最大手である第一交通産業との提携実現を光栄に思います。経験豊かなドライバーの皆様と弊社のテクノロジーの融合により、今後、一人でも多くの日本に住む方々や観光で訪れた方々に、Uberアプリを通じた快適な配車サービスを提供したいと考えています」。

第一交通産業の田中亮一郎代表取締役社長は次のように述べています。「世界中に数多くのユーザーを抱えるUberの配車サービスと連携することを正式に決定しました。この配車サービスを通じて、訪日外国人のみならず日本のお客様のニーズに応え、より快適な乗車体験を提供できると確信しています」。

両社は今後、日本の広いエリアで順次サービスを展開していくことを目指します。なお、サービスの詳細については、開始前に改めて発表する予定です。

Uber Partners With Leading Taxi Firm Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo

Uber is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo Co., Ltd., one of the leading taxi companies in Japan to offer convenient and seamless taxi rides via Uber app in Hiroshima and Aki.

This strategic agreement reinforces Uber’s commitment to partner with taxi companies in Japan. Currently the Uber Taxi product is available in Nagoya, Osaka, and Sendai. The partnership with Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo will expand this further to Hiroshima and Aki, with the aim to offer the Uber Taxi product nationwide.

At launch customers will be able to request a taxi from Daiichi Koutsu via the Uber app and will experience a convenient and seamless riding experience which will include tracking arrival time, GPS location sharing, a fare estimator, and riding record.

Tom White, General Manager of Mobility business for Uber Japan said: “We are excited to be partnering with Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo, the leading taxi company in Japan. Japan is a priority market for Uber and by joining forces with Japan’s leading taxi company Daiichi Koutsu, we are pairing our technology with Daiichi Koutsu’s experienced drivers to facilitate a technology-driven mobility option. I look forward to expanding this service to more cities in Japan in partnership with Daiichi Koutsu.”

Ryoichiro Tanaka, President and Representative Director of Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo commented: “We made the decision to partner with Uber to offer a taxi e-hail service as we believe they can enhance our business. The Uber platform is used by millions of customers globally and I am sure that this will allow us to provide an even greater taxi experience as we look to meet the needs of both customers visiting from abroad as well as those living here in Japan.”

Going forward, both Uber Japan and Daiichi Koutsu Sangyo aim to expand this service nationwide.
