UberGIVING – Reach for a Dream

We are proud to announce Uber South Africa’s first national impact campaign, in partnership with Reach For A Dream Foundation, to help fulfil the dreams of children faced with a life-threatening illness.

For 27 years the Reach For A Dream Foundation, has brought hope, joy and healing to countless South African children. These children between the ages of 3 and 18 years have used their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and leukaemia, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, renal failure and various blood disorders.

How To Achieve This

Previously we have automatically rounded down the value of your trip to the nearest rand. For the next 3 months we will leave the value of the trip as is and contribute the extra amount to the Reach For A Dream Foundation!

What Does This Mean For You

In keeping with the business model, our partner-drivers will still earn 80% of each fare.

If on average you take 10 trips a month, this will amount to an estimated R5.00 more spent per month.

These small amounts donated from each riders trip, although a few cents here and there, when combined with riders across the country become a significant contribution to Reach for a Dream and improving the lives of these children.

Making Dreams Come True

Reach For A Dream touches the lives of 25 000 children annually through dream fulfilment and various projects. Some dreams have included flying in helicopters, becoming a fireman, owning a dollhouse, meeting Celine Dion and swimming with dolphins.
