At Uber, we’re always looking for ways to improve your experience on the app as a driver-partner.

From your feedback, we learned that flexibility is important to you, which is why we’re happy to introduce the trip type preference feature.

Tell me more about trip type preference

This feature allows you to select which types of trip requests you’d like to receive. It works by giving you the option to toggle on, or off, any trip types you are eligible to receive in the Uber app.

How it works

1. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner of the Uber app.
2. Tap the white gear icon near the top right of your screen.
3. You can now filter the trip types you want to (or don’t want to) receive.

You can always access your preferences to change which trip types you’d like to receive.

Also, if you haven’t received a trip request in a while, you’ll receive a notification in the Uber app to see if you’d like to change your trip type filter.

Dynamic pricing

You will continue to see dynamic pricing for all trip types that you are eligible to receive, even though you may have toggled off a trip type. We want to make sure you know what dynamically priced trips may be available to you.

While you won’t be able to receive trip requests for toggled off trip types, you can always toggle the trips back on at any time.  

Unable to see a trip type option you’re eligible to receive?

If you’re having issues seeing a trip type option that you’re eligible to receive, it is recommended to try a complete force-restart of the Uber app.
