Progress calls for innovation
We lead unique programs and activations in over 50 countries around the world, often hand in hand with others. Discover our global impact network.
International Finance Corporation (IFC)
IFC has collaborated with Uber on efforts to boost opportunities for women in emerging markets, including convening private-sector leaders around gender issues and analyzing data to better understand how ridesharing can increase women’s work opportunities and mobility.
International Rescue Committee (IRC)
Uber provides the IRC—a global humanitarian organization helping people who are forced to flee from conflict and crises—with safe and reliable transportation through free rides for both IRC staff and the vulnerable communities they serve. Rides with Uber are a vital resource for refugees and displaced people who are rebuilding their lives.
LISC
LISC, Uber, PayPal Giving Fund, and Walgreens have joined forces to create the Vaccine Access Fund, an $11 million initiative that addresses health inequities and facilitates rides to vaccination sites for people who can’t get there on their own. LISC will manage the Vaccine Access Fund by working, as it has for 40 years, with community-based nonprofits and other groups to set up and support the free rides program.
Partners In Health
Uber is collaborating with Partners In Health to give rides to underserved communities that need COVID-19 vaccinations and making sure transportation is not a barrier to vaccine access.
United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
Uber has joined UNESCO’s Global Education Coalition to ensure that teachers and families in need can receive free rides while schools reopen. As part of the collaboration, Uber has also helped facilitate delivery of over 400,000 free meals and food parcels to families in Colombia, Costa Rica, Kenya, Mexico, Panama, and the UK.
World Central Kitchen (WCK)
Uber worked with World Central Kitchen to enable delivery of 300,000 fresh meals in Washington, DC; Bronx, NY; and Newark, NJ, to at-risk communities that were homebound as a result of the pandemic.
