There's nothing more important than the safety of the people we serve. That's why we’re joining with the University of South Carolina to launch a national campaign to help make students safer and increase awareness about how to avoid potentially risky situations.

Every time you take a trip with Uber, please make sure you’re getting into the right car with the right driver by opening your app and completing 4 safety pickup steps:

Protecting your safety around campus

Uber is partnering with the University of South Carolina and the local police department on a dedicated pickup zone where riders within the Five Points entertainment district will be directed through the app to meet their Uber driver partner. In the coming months, we will engage major universities across the US to explore doing the same.

Starting with the University of South Carolina, Uber will launch a new tool for universities across the country to provide service for students at hours when other options are limited or unavailable. Interested universities can submit their information here.
