Uber has partnered with Motional to make autonomous rides available through the Uber app in Las Vegas.
One-step access
When you’re ready to get in, you can unlock the Motional vehicle by choosing Unlock car in your Uber app.

Autonomous Motional vehicles on Uber can seat up to 4 riders, and the cars offer ample trunk storage.
How to be matched with a Motional vehicle on Uber in Las Vegas
Turn on autonomous vehicles in your ride preferences in the Uber app to boost your chances of matching with an AV the next time you request UberX, Uber Comfort, or Uber Comfort Electric.*
Follow the steps below to opt in to autonomous rides in Las Vegas:

- How do pickup and dropoff work with a Motional ride in Las Vegas?
When the Motional vehicle has arrived at your pickup location, check that the vehicle details (license plate, car make/model) match what’s in the Uber app. When you’re ready to get in, you can unlock the vehicle by choosing Unlock car in the Uber app. Upon reaching your destination, make sure you have all your belongings, and exit as you would with any other rideshare vehicle. - Can I bring other passengers on my Uber trip in an autonomous vehicle?
Yes. Just like typical Uber rides, passengers are welcome to join you on your Uber trip in an autonomous vehicle. Currently, all Motional vehicles can accommodate up to 4 riders total, with 3 seated in the back seat of the vehicle and one in the front passenger seat.
- Are pets permitted in Motional vehicles?
As a courtesy to other riders who may have allergies, we do not currently allow pets in Motional vehicles. Service animals, however, are always welcome in accordance with our Service Animal and Assistive Device Policy.
- How long will the AV wait for me?
Uber customers have 7 minutes to board their autonomous vehicle.
- Can I communicate with a person if I need help during the ride?
If you ever need help during a ride, you can contact support through the Uber app. Plus, Uber’s safety features—accessible by selecting the blue safety shield in the app—are always available to help ensure a smooth experience.
