Getaround is an online carsharing marketplace for people to share and rent cars. Car owners can list a car on Getaround to make money by renting it out, while drivers looking to rent a car can use Getaround to browse available cars nearby and book them instantly.
We’ve partnered with Getaround so that eligible drivers can instantly rent a road-ready, low-commitment car to make money driving with Uber.
- How does Getaround work?
Down Small With Getaround, you can instantly book and rent nearby cars through/on/with the Getaround app to make money driving with Uber. Once you’ve linked your Uber and Getaround accounts together, you can browse and book available cars by tapping Drive with Uber in the Getaround app. You’ll pick up and drop off your car from the same location. One-way bookings are not offered at this time.

- How does Getaround insurance work when I drive with Uber?
Down Small Your Getaround rental includes auto insurance coverage for you and your car in case of a covered accident. In addition to the auto insurance that Uber maintains on behalf of drivers, you're also insured with physical damage protection insurance while driving your Getaround car rental when the Uber app is offline.

Down Small To book and drive a Getaround car to earn with Uber, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- You must be at least 21 years old
- You must have a valid US driver’s license
- You must have been licensed to drive in the US for at least 1 year (if age 23 or older), or at least 3 years (if under the age of 23)
- You must not have committed any major driving violations within the past 3 years
- You must not have committed any alcohol- or drug-related violations within the past 7 years
- You must not have committed more than 2 violations or accidents of any degree within the past 3 years

- What is Getaround’s cancellation policy?
Down Small After booking your Getaround car rental, you have up to 24 hours before the reservation begins to cancel without a fee. However, if you cancel your rental less than 24 hours before your reservation begins, you’ll be charged 50% of the total reservation rate. Once your trip begins, it cannot be canceled or refunded.
- What is Getaround’s fuel policy?
Down Small Getaround’s fuel policy requires that you return your car with a full tank of fuel. If your car is returned with less than a full tank, you’ll be charged for the missing fuel. An additional Fuel Fee may also be charged at Getaround's sole discretion.
- What is the mileage limit for Getaround when driving with Uber?
Down Small Your Getaround car rental includes unlimited mileage when renting to drive with Uber.
