- Account Management
The Account Management team is responsible for managing our shipper customer relationships beginning with onboarding integration. AMs are the face of Uber Freight to our customers, managing day to day operations, are consistently communicating with internal stakeholders on execution, and are strategically looking for opportunities to grow our relationships, hit our business goals, and set our customers up for success.
- Design & Research
The Design and Research team is comprised of User Experience Research, Product Design, and Content Design. User Experience Research helps the Uber Freight team understand our customers, identify their unmet needs, and verify designs. Product Designers create end-to-end solutions that address customer needs as well as business goals established with our cross-functional partners. Content Design works in partnership with Product Design but focuses primarily on storytelling, writing/editing, and information architecture. Design and Research is responsible for all of Uber Freight’s customer-facing mobile and desktop solutions as well as our internal operations tools.
- Data Science
The data is at the heart of Uber Freight's competitive advantage, and the Data Science and Analytics team leads the chart un using data to transform the freight industry. The team leverages Uber Freight and external data across 3 pillars -- analytics, inference, and machine learning. On the analytics side, are we obsessed with mapping out and communicating all factors affecting our shippers, carriers, and marketplace; on the inference we draw insights from complex experiments and develop econometric models; and on ML we team build tens of models that actively optimizes our product and business to support carriers and shippers. We love to partner cross functionally with the tech and operations team and ensure that all our decisions sit on solid foundations.
- Customer Success Team
The Customer Success Team is a dedicated Operations team that executes load level activities to ensure the success of our Customers. Working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders, the Customer Success team drives operational efficiency and quality, at scale, always keeping our customers’ needs top of mind. Leveraging our technology, the Customer Success team explores creative solutions with our Product and Central Operations teams to scale our business in the most efficient and effective way.
- Engineering
The Engineering teams design and build innovative applications, infrastructure and models to power Uber Freight. Utilizing Uber’s foundational elements, this includes the mobile app that Carriers use, the portals and integrations that give Shippers access to the platform, tools for our Operations Teams, and all the underlying pricing, matching, and forecasting algorithms that evolve the freight industry forward.
- Marketplace
The Marketplace team continuously manages the supply-demand balance and proactively drives optimal business outcomes. The team studies the outcomes of different supply-demand mixes and forecasts mission critical business inputs. Building on those, the team builds execution plan to improve business outcomes and drives them collaboratively across all of Uber Freight.
- Product
The Product team is responsible for the roadmap, strategy, and vision for each of Uber Freight's products. We start by deeply understanding our customers and identify paint points we need to solve to help make their lives better. Product Managers drive impact by coordinating between engineering, design, research, marketing, legal, and leadership. We are responsible for prioritizing small tasks and big rocks, obsessing over product quality, and moving business metrics.
- Product Ops
The Freight Product Operations Team facilitates the cross collaboration between Uber Freight’s Tech and Ops Teams to ensure we are serving our users at the highest level. Our core pillars are: 1) Be a fierce, data-driven advocate for Ops throughout the product prioritization process; 2) Support product rollouts through strong communication and coordination with Ops; 3) Ensure the top Ops problems/bugs are surfaced and properly triaged with data-driven justifications; 4) Provide Ops a transparent view of the Product Team’s roadmap and prioritization process.
- Shipper Sales
Shipper Sales plays a pivotal role in the success of the business by bridging the needs of the customer with the products and services that Uber Freight offers. Shipper sales has three primary focus areas. 1.) Acquisition of customers within our total addressable market. 2.) Growth of wallet share through ongoing customer engagement and product advancements. 3.) Retention of clients. Additionally, Shipper Sales is the face of the organization. Sales reps must be well versed on product, vision, and how to address common customer objections. Shipper Sales must be able to understand the voice and needs of the customer to facilitate product advancements for Uber Freight.
