Taipei City Maternity Taxi: How to redeem Uber Voucher

Each pregnancy is eligible for one application. The total subsidy is NT$8,000. The subsidy credits are valid from the date of issuance until 6 months after the expected date of delivery.

Yes. Each trip can be subsidized up to NT$250.If the fare exceeds NT$250, the remaining balance will be charged to your primary payment method (e.g., credit card). Any unused portion of the voucher will be returned to your total subsidy balance after the voucher expires.

No. If the expectant mother or the spouse of a non-national expectant mother moves out of Taipei City, eligibility will be revoked. Any unused subsidy credits will become invalid starting from the following month.

No. Once the redemption process is confirmed in the TaipeiPASS app, the credits are converted into exclusive Uber Vouchers. Please ensure your selection is correct before proceeding.

The Uber Voucher will be automatically linked to the Uber app account registered with the same mobile number as your TaipeiPASS account. Therefore, please ensure both accounts use the identical phone number.

You will receive an SMS notification from Uber at the mobile number you used to register with TaipeiPASS. The SMS will contain a link to register an Uber app account and redeem your Uber Voucher.

1. TaipeiPASS app: Update your information within the account profile settings.
2. Uber app: Go to Account > Settings > Edit Account > Phone Number, update the number, and complete the verification.

Please ensure your payment method is set to “Credit or Debit Card.” Given that Uber Vouchers do not support cash payments, please ensure you have added a credit or debit card to your Uber App account before requesting a trip and confirm that the Uber Voucher has not expired. If you still encounter issues, please contact the Uber for Business support team at business-support@uber.com for assistance.

Don’t worry, this is due to the way Uber Taxi fares are calculated. An Uber Taxi’s trip fare is determined by the final amount shown on the meter, while the fare shown in the app at the time of your request is an “estimated fare”. As a result, the system is unable to apply the Uber Voucher upfront.

As long as you have a valid Uber Voucher in your Uber App account, it will be automatically applied once the trip ends. You can verify the final fare details on your receipt after the trip is completed.

This is a “Temporary Authorization Hold.” When you request a trip, the system may place a pending hold for the estimated fare on your payment method to ensure it is valid. 

Please be assured that this is not an actual charge. Once the trip ends and the Uber Voucher is applied successfully, Uber will release the hold, but depending on your bank’s processing time, it usually takes 3-5 business days for it to reflect in your account.

No. This program is not limited to medical facilities. Expectant mothers are free to choose any pickup or drop-off location based on their needs.

The default language of the SMS is English.The displayed language of the SMS is then automatically adjusted based on your device’s language settings, VPN location and mobile carriers. Receiving messages in languages other than Traditional Chinese is normal.

Eligible pregnant individuals under the Taipei City Maternity Taxi Program who are among the first 200 users to complete 1 eligible trip using an Uber Voucher will receive 20 ride promotion codes, each valued at NT$50 (valid for 6 months), and  1 Uber Eats Grocery & Retail (優市) promotion code for NT$120 off a minimum single order of NT$999. Redemption terms:

1. The system will automatically redeem one (1) Uber voucher of equivalent value for every 250 subsidy credits If the account balance contains fewer than 250 credits, the Uber Voucher value shall be calculated based on the remaining credits. Due to system limitations, Uber Vouchers cannot be redeemed when the remaining balance is fewer than 20 credits.
2. Only one (1) Uber Voucher may be redeemed at a time. A new Uber Voucher may not be redeemed until the previously issued Uber Voucher has been fully settled and closed. Redemption records may be viewed in the credit transaction history.
3. Uber Vouchers are valid only for UberX, Comfort, Comfort Electric, Uber Black, Uber Assist, Car Seat, Uber Pet, Green, UberXL, UberXXL, and Uber Taxi. Uber Vouchers are not valid for Uber Courier, Uber Eats, Taoyuan Airport pickup services, or Uber for Business trips. Uber Vouchers do not support cash payments.

General Terms:

1. This Uber Voucher is exclusively available to eligible beneficiaries under the Taipei City Maternity Taxi Program and is non-transferable.
2. Each Uber Voucher may be used only within twenty-four (24) hours after redemption via the selected platform App. Any unused portion after expiration will automatically become void, and the corresponding credits will be refunded.
3. Each trip is eligible for a maximum discount of NT$250. Uber Vouchers are valid for domestic use only. The drop-off location must be within Uber system’s operational area in Taiwan.
4. Uber Vouchers have no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash or converted into subsidy credits. The Taipei City Government is the sole issuer of such vouchers.
