What documents do I need to be able to apply for a taxi driver's license?
Driving license copy
Psychological fitness confirmation document
Examination and issuing a document usually costs 50€ and you can obtain one from a transportation psychologist. The document can’t be older than 3 months. You can find a list of driving psychologists who can provide the certificate here.
Physical fitness confirmation document
Issued by your general practitioner. We recommend, to bring this document to the doctor with you. The document can't be older than 3 months. The cost of the examination, together with the document is typically around 20€.

Extract from your Criminal record
You can obtain the extract at any branch of the Slovak Post. It’s not necessary to provide the document, if you agree to obtain the criminal record from local authorities at Client center. However, if you provide the document, the process will be faster. The document can't be older than 3 months.
50€ administrative fee [receipt stamp]
You can get a receipt stamp from a kiosk at the local county offices of the county seat (Client centers) where you will be applying for the taxi driver’s licence. To purchase the stamp you need to insert a code 841 to the kiosk.
Driver's registration card statement
You will receive the statement at the District Directorate of the Police Force in your place of residence. It’s not necessary to provide the document, if you agree to obtain the driver's registration card statement from local authorities at Client center. However, if you provide the document, the process will be faster. The document can't be older than 3 months.

- How much does a taxi driver's license cost and where to get a proof of administration fee?
The administrative fee is 50€ and you can get proof of administrative fee from a kiosk at the customer service center (district office at the seat of the region). To purchase the stamp you need to insert a code 841 to the kiosk. You can also use any stamp with 50€ value which you can purchase at any post office in Slovak republic.
You must submit proof of medical and mental fitness together with your application. These will typically cost you around 70€. It is required to submit copies of the documents (typically the Client center is able to make a copy for you) together with the application, since you are required to have both of the documents at your disposal in case of the inspection.
- Where to apply for a taxi driver's license?
You can apply for a taxi driver's license at the county offices of the county seat (Client centers) in the county in which you have your registered office, place of business or permanent residence. The Client center in Bratislava is on Tomasikova street.
- I'm a foreigner, how to apply?
If you have a permanent residence in Slovakia and a Slovak driving license, your application will be processed without problems. In case you don't have a permanent resident status or a Slovak driving license, you will need to provide a criminal record or similar document, officially translated and apostillized into the Slovak language. The same applies to the driver's registration card.
