Introducing Entrepreneur Zahra Al-Moghalliq.

What started off as a quest to make a great birthday cake for her daughter’s birthday turned into a passion and a profession for Zahra, the owner of Chocovania.

Established in 2011, Chocovania is Zahra’s way of expressing her love for anything related to art: makeup, drawing, décor, etc. “For me, cake decorating is an art that brings all of these things together – color mixing, drawing and decorating” says Zahra.

Now, the busy mother of 3 has turned Chocovania into a business that focuses on cake-making, as well as giving courses in baking and decorating.

Running her own business has not always been easy. Even with the high level of competition and the lack of educational resources in her field, it is still important to Zahra balance her professional and personal lives.

Zahra understands the role that technology has played in growing her business: “Marketing is now easier because of technology. Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram and Snapchat have brought my customers close to me. All I need to do is upload my cake photos and add my contact number”.

“When you have a passion for something, you will see miracles happen”

That said, Zahra understands that passion without hard work will lead to nowhere: “When you are passionate about something, just start working hard and you will see miracles happen!”.

So what’s in store for Chocovania’s future? Not one to lack in ambition, Zahra is now looking forward to taking up cake decorating classes abroad, and has her mind set on turning her business into a global one.
