Tips from others for delivering orders

Want to help your deliveries go as smoothly as possible? Here are suggestions from delivery people and other details on the Uber Eats app.

Questions from delivery partners

  • If you’re unable to find the customer when delivering, you should try calling them twice and message them twice. If they don’t answer, you can tap the banner that appears to indicate that they didn’t answer. This will send them a notification, and a timer will begin.

    Call them again.

If they don’t answer you or contact you by the time the countdown runs out and you follow the prompts to end the delivery, you’ll still get paid and it won’t affect your cancellation rate.

A high number of canceled deliveries before the timer runs out may indicate fraudulent activity and consequently result in deactivation.

  • You can accept or decline the request to deliver to a new location.

If you decide to deliver the order to the new address, you can contact Uber Eats support so we can adjust your trip fare.

If you don’t want to deliver to the new address, you can cancel the order. Please contact Uber Eats support to let us know.

  • In rare cases, an order you accept may get canceled by the restaurant, the customer, or our support team even after you’ve picked up the order. Once canceled, the order will disappear from your app.

If this happens, your payment will be calculated based on the distance traveled from the restaurant.

  • If there’s a problem, like a flat tire, and you can’t deliver an order, cancel the trip in your app.

Once you’ve canceled, you can contact Uber Eats support through the app to report the incident to us. If you or someone else has been injured and you need emergency help, always call the authorities first.
