Due to recent developments in Saudi Arabia, Uber has been instructed to collect 15% VAT* from riders on the full trip fare. As such, changes to the recommended fares on the Uber app have been made to help minimize the impact to riders. These changes aim to also help the tens of thousands of drivers that have come to rely on our technology for additional earnings opportunities to continue earning similar amounts on a per trip basis.
The new recommended fares (inclusive of VAT) will go into effect on December 1 2020.
