The impact of Wusool on Saudi women

Uber has commissioned a study to measure the 4-year impact of its “Wusool” program, which was designed to promote female participation in the workplace in Saudi Arabia by overcoming commuting challenges through affordable, subsidized transportation.

The Wusool program was launched in 2018 by the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) of Saudi Arabia and is operated by Takamol Holdings, in collaboration with Uber and is Uber’s largest subsidy program and one of its largest government partnerships globally.

The 2021 study revealed the success of the public-private partnership, with statistics that show how the country has met its Vision 2030 target of 30% female labor force participation almost 10 years ahead of schedule.
