  • In this together

    To prioritize your health, all riders are required to wear a face cover or mask. Riders are also no longer allowed to sit in the front seat, to leave more space between each of you.

  • Face Cover Check

    Before you go online, we ask you to take a photo of yourself, and our technology helps verify that you are wearing a face cover or a mask.

  • Health and safety supplies

    We are working to provide you with health and safety supplies like face covers, disinfectants, and gloves to deliver food.

  • Expert-led guidance

    We are working with the World Health Organization (WHO) to share safety tips and resources.

  • Ride Safety Feedback

    You’ll now be able to leave feedback on health issues, such as a rider not wearing a face cover or a mask. This helps us improve and holds everyone accountable.

Emergency assistance button

You can use the in-app emergency button to call authorities to get help if you need it. The app displays your location and trip details, so you can quickly share them with emergency services.

24/7 incident support

Uber customer associates trained in incident response are available around the clock.

Follow My Ride

Friends and family can follow your route and will know as soon as you arrive.

2-way ratings

Your feedback matters. Low-rated trips are logged, and users may be removed to protect the Uber community.

GPS tracking

All Uber trips are tracked from start to finish, so there’s a record of your trip if something happens.

Rider verification through Facebook and payment methods

We implement verification tools for users through their Facebook account when they choose cash as their payment method. If their payment method is electronic (credit, debit, or PayPal), we verify their relevant information.

Automatic learning technology in security measures

In order to identify in real time possible risks that may arise, the technology implemented through automated algorithms allows Uber to block potentially unsafe trips.

RideCheck

Using sensors and GPS data, RideCheck can help detect if a trip has an unexpected long stop. If so, we'll check on you and offer tools to get help.

Uber’s Community Guidelines help riders and drivers enjoy a stress-free ride. Any person who doesn’t follow the guidelines may be at risk of being removed from the platform for the safety of the entire Uber community.
