1. How do you book Macau meter taxi trips on the Uber app?
Meter taxi rides booked through the Uber app are provided by local taxi driver-partners as third parties and the trip fares are charged in accordance with local laws and regulations based on the taximeter. These taxi driver-partners are registered to drive with Uber and you can request a ride on the Uber app. The ride will be carried out in accordance with our General Terms of Use as supplemented by the Uber Taxi Trip Terms, available here.
2. How are Uber taxi meter fares calculated?
Uber taxi meter pricing offers a familiar pricing structure, where the fare is calculated in accordance with the local taxi laws based on the total amount shown on the meter which shall include applicable surcharges, such as luggage fees.
3. What types of payment do Meter Taxi rides accept?
Electronic payments only, including credit cards and Apple Pay are accepted. Cash payments are not currently supported for Uber meter taxi rides.
When the trip is completed, the taxi driver partner will enter the final fare in their Uber App based on the fare displayed on the taximeter (including any applicable surcharges). Uber will process the payment via the e-payment method you have selected in-app, and there is no need for you to confirm the fare amount again on your Uber App. Remember, do not pay cash to your Uber taxi driver-partner in Macau to avoid double payment. You may ask the taxi driver-partner to provide you with an official taximeter receipt when you arrive at your destination.
