Open the app and slide over to Uber Hire to book. Your ride will arrive within minutes.

How it works:

1. Open your Uber app
2. Enter your destination
3. Slide over to “More” in the ride options menu.
4. Chose your preferred HIRE option, HIRE GO or HIRE PREMIER and confirm.
5. Your Uber Hire will be at your service. Keep the car for as long as you want.
6. If you wish to add more destinations, you can do it along the way.
7. At the end of your trip, your total fare is calculated based on the distance and duration of your trip. If you’ve exceeded the initial 1HR or 10KMs, rest of the trip will be charged based on the incremental distance and duration.  
8. Please note: Currently, Uber Hire is available only within Colombo service area and can be used up to *24 hours.

• FAQs:

  Do I need to enter a destination?

  You need to enter first destination only. However, you can update destinations later for ease of navigation. Multiple destination update is not mandatory.  

  How long can I keep my uberHIRE?

  Both HIRE packages can initially be booked for 1HR or 10 KMs. Additional usage beyond these times are subject to per min charges.

  Is HIRE available 24/7?

  Yes, you can request 24/7.

  What’s the minimum fare for an UberHire ride?

  Minimum fare for Uber GO is LKR 525 and for Uber PREMIER it’s LKR 855 for the first 10km and 1hr threshold. Once you exceed either 10km distance or 1hr duration, additional fares will be charged. You can keep the car with you for as long as you need up to 12 hours and pay the additional charges mentioned above.

  What are the cancellation charges?

  You can cancel your car within 5 minutes of booking. For cancellation after 5 mins, LKR 200 for HIRE GO and LKR 400 for HIRE PREMIER will be charged.  

  How do I pay for tolls?

  Toll charges are collected in cash. Pay toll fee to your driver partner directly at the toll gates.

  Is the service area different for UberHire?

  Uber Hire is operational only in the Colombo service area. It is not offered for outstation travel.

  What type of cars can I expect?

  You will get the hatchback or sedan cars similar to what’s available under GO or PREMIER
