Uber Courier Terms and Conditions
By using this Uber product, You acknowledge and agree that this functionality enables You to request, through the Uber application, that the Lessors registered on the platform carry out the transportation of Your items only.
This functionality may be disabled by Uber at any time at its discretion. You acknowledge that Uber will not be responsible for the items, nor their content, and therefore disclaims any obligation or responsibility related to the items, their content and/or delivery, including any loss or damage that they may suffer. You also acknowledge and agree that the items will not be insured. It is Your responsibility to ensure that the recipient is waiting punctually for the Lessor at the destination selected by You. Items submitted by You through Uber Courier must comply with all laws, regulations as well as Uber policies.
You must not use Uber Courier to send Prohibited Items (“Prohibited Items”). Prohibited Items include, but are not limited to, the following: people; alcohol; tobacco; weapons, firearms, ammunition or their parts; highly perishable foods or beverages, (example: raw meat or dairy products); illegal/stolen goods; drugs; narcotics; barbiturates; hazardous materials (example: flammable, poisonous, explosive), animals or their parts; regulated species; money; gift cards; high value objects; jewelry, prescription medications, fragile items; obscene or pornographic material; medical waste; blood or fluids; any item that is reasonably likely to be perceived by the recipient as threatening or harassing or otherwise contravenes the Community Guidelines; items not permitted by law or any items that You do not have permission to ship, the above list of Prohibited Items is not exhaustive and Uber reserves the right to prohibit additional items not on the above list. If You submit an item that violates the law or any of our policies, including those listed above, Uber may take appropriate corrective action, which may include immediate suspension or termination of Your account, regardless of any legal action that may be appropriate. Shipping illegal or unsafe products may also result in legal action, including civil and criminal penalties. You agree that the Terms and Conditions of the Uber application that You have accepted when opening Your Uber account will apply to Uber Courier and will be construed accordingly.
The items sent by You through Your request in the Uber app: (i) may not be greater than 20 kilograms (50 kilograms only in the case of CourierXL and 10 kg in the case of 2-wheeled vehicles, if available); (ii) must fit comfortably in the trunk of the Lessor's vehicle or backpack; (iii) they cannot have a total value greater than one hundred dollars or its equivalent in local currency. It is Your responsibility to prepare, package and/or seal the items securely.
You acknowledge and agree that the Lessors, at their discretion, may refuse to collect or deliver the items or cancel delivery after accepting Your request for any reason, provided that the Lessors must comply with the Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines of the Uber application.
You acknowledge and agree that if the Lessor is unable to complete the delivery, because for example the recipient is not at the delivery location to accept delivery, the Lessor may attempt to arrange the return of the item and in that case You may be charged for any additional costs associated with a failed delivery or return. If the Lessor is unable to return the items, You acknowledge and agree that the items may be dropped off at the initial pick-up location, at an Uber Support center (if available in the respective territory), with local authorities or, provided that You send written instructions to the Lessor via the Uber app, at the delivery location. To the extent possible and if requested by You, Uber will also attempt to facilitate an exchange of the undelivered item between You and the Lessor.
