10月は「リデュース・リユース・リサイクル(3R)」推進月間です。そこで、10月4日（日）10:00から15:00の間、東京都心部で、Uberアプリから衣類の即時回収を依頼でき、東北の経済復興活動を支援する団体に寄付するイベント「UberRECYCLE」を行います。「シェアリングエコノミー」の概念に基づく本チャリティーイベントでは、利用者には不要になった服を寄付していただけ、ボランティアドライバーには自家用車に乗って古着の回収をしていただけます。
回収されたは一般社団法人日本リ・ファッション協会を通して、以下の活動に利用されます。
1. 東北リサイクルショップでの販売： 特定非営利法人 ザ・ピープル
2. Tシャツを使った布ぞうりの制作及び販売： 一般社団法人 あゆみ

＜回収リクエスト方法＞
1. Uberアプリを開き、車種選択画面で「RECYCLE」を選び、配車をリクエスト。
2. ご指定の場所に衣類を回収する車が向かいます。
3. 車が到着後、衣類が入った袋をドライバーにお渡しください。
＜回収できる衣類について＞
お一人様45リットルの大きさの袋を2個まで寄付いただけます。また、袋は、秋冬物とTシャツの2種類に分けてご準備ください。
1. 男女秋冬物： スタイリッシュな未使用の秋冬物、または古着の場合は清潔な状態のものを45リットルの袋に入れてまとめてください。
2. Tシャツ： 未使用、また古着の場合は清潔な状態の綿100%の大人用カラーTシャツ（女性用はMサイズ以上に限る）を、45リットルの袋に入れ、まとめてください。

10/4 UberRECYCLE charity event in Tokyo
〜Calling for clothing donations and volunteer drivers to collect the clothes, to be donated to Tohoku to support their economic rehabilitation〜
October is “3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) Promotion Month” in Japan. Uber will be promoting the 3Rs with a clothes recycling initiative, “UberRECYCLE”, on 10/4 (Sun) from 10am to 3pm. We would love for you to participate!
During the event, volunteer drivers will be available in central Tokyo for on-demand pickup of new and used clothing, to be donated to Tohoku to support their economic rehabilitation.
We invite you to take part in this charity event, based on the concept of the “sharing economy”, either by donating used and/or new clothing, or by collecting the donations as a volunteer driver using your personal vehicle.
Collected clothing will be donated to support the following activities, via our partner for the event, Japan Refashion Association, in an effort to contribute to the economic rehabilitation of Tohoku:
1. Resale of donated clothes at a recycle shop in Tohoku: NPO The People
2. Creation and sale of cloth zori sandals from donated t-shirts: General Incorporated Association Ayumi

◆ Participate by donating clothing
＜How to request collection of donations＞
- Select “RECYCLE” on the slider within the app and request
- A volunteer driver will arrive to your designated location
- The driver will collect your bags of donated clothing
＜Criteria for donations＞
We will accept a maximum of two 45L bags of donations per request. Please separate fall/winter clothing donations from t-shirt donations.
- Fall/winter clothing: Stylish new or used ( in good condition) fall/winter clothing for men and/or women
- T-shirts: New or used (in good condition) 100% cotton adult size (larger than size M for women’s shirts) colored t-shirts.

We invite you to participate as a volunteer driver by driving your personal vehicle around central Tokyo to collect clothing donations using the Uber app.

Japan Refashion Association: Coordination of sorting and sending clothing to Tohoku, post-collection.
We contribute to the development of Japanese economy, improvement of the quality of life and the growth of the international society through the promotion of “Refashion”. “Refashion” means to review our life style and bring a change by making use of our traditional wisdom and skill to cherish good products for long time. We aim to achieve the recycling society and improvement of the quality of life. We are aiming to continue our efforts to support Tohoku for the next 5, 10 years and even now, continue to accept in-kind donations (mainly clothing) for the region.
TOHTO CREATE INC.: Provision of warehouse and transportation of clothing to Tohoku.
We create stores such as “Book-Off” and “ODIN” and export of products, mainly focusing on the purchase of recyclable items. By focusing on the management of reuse/recycle shops as the core of our company, we aim to increase the satisfaction of both the products and souls of our customers.
COMx TORANOMON: Provision of temporary storage space for collected clothing donations.
The stunting of innovation, as well as many other social issues, stem from the weakening of “connections between people”. Through COMx TORANOMON, we provide a space in order to solve these issues, to promote value creation, and to enable work, play, and exchange of ideas.

Fukkura-Nuno-Zouri (Cloth Sandals) Association
The crafts-women for the cloth sandals are women living in temporary or leased housing, with teams of knitters based in Rikuzen-Takata, Minami-Sanriku, Ishinomaki and Higashi-Matsushima. “Eco Nuno-Zouri” cloth sandals, made from the up-cycling of used t-shirts, is one of our popular products.
