Sr Software Engineer BE

As a Sr Software engineer starting in Earner India Org, you will be working on an Earner Platform/stack that is being created to make adding new earning opportunities easier, faster and configurable. Over the coming months and year, we will be creating new experiences on Earner stack that supports various gigs, including Moonshot/Knowledge Work (KWM) and multitudes of varying fields tasks. This will put you in the middle of various high visibility initiatives such as KWM platform being created by Uber AI Solutions as well as interfacing with Marketplace systems - FF, Dispatch etc.

About the Role

Earner Org represents the supply side of the marketplace, serving the needs of drivers and couriers (collectively called Earners - 8M+ globally and increasing everyday) and empowering them to improve their earnings and have a delightful experience on Uber as the largest Gig Platform globally.

Earner India engineering is responsible for building products and solutions that power this experience, through their onboarding and operational journey. These include Earner's onboarding and compliance, online experience on the Earner App, progression, loyalty constructs and Metrics/Performance tracking

As a software engineer - Backend in Earner, you will be working on one of these sub-areas, building products & services, contributing in engineering excellence initiatives for those assets and maintaining operational health of the underlying systems/services in perfect health, ensuring high availability and reliability. You will be taking guidance from Sr Staff & Staff Engs and also guiding SE-1 and SE-2s. You will collaborate with you peer partner engineers in sister teams and cross-functional stakeholders on delivering on your OKRs.

1. Develop and test software applications using Uber's technology stack
2. You'll be very close to business concerns, working alongside Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists and Operations team, to understand what's most important, and translating that to systems, designs, and code that best solves for today, as well as plans for tomorrow
3. You will build user-facing products - the work you do will impact Earners. You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality products with fast iterations.

1. Grit, drive and a deep feeling of ownership.
2. Minimum 6+ years hands on experience in developing web/full stack systems and micro services
3. Good understanding of databases, messaging and system design for resiliency and reliability
4. Experience analysing a feature in production using analytics and experiments
5. Experience collaborating on projects and working efficiently as part of a team
6. Having a go-getter attitude
