About the Role

As an Associate Program Manager within the Uber GSS team, you will play a key role in shaping, launching, and operating human-in-the-loop job workflows that support AI-enabled products across Uber.

This role sits at the intersection of program management, operations, and job design. You will take ambiguous requirements and translate them into clear, executable workflows, ensuring human work is intentionally defined, consistently executed, and integrated into broader product and system needs.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, ML, Operations, and vendor teams. Deep ML expertise is not required, but you should be comfortable working alongside ML-driven systems and understanding how human outputs feed into downstream processes.

  1. Own the end-to-end execution of human-in-the-loop job workflows, from initial definition through steady-state operations.
  2. Translate loosely defined requirements into clear jobs, execution plans, and delivery expectations.
  3. Shape how work is performed by defining job scope, instructions, success criteria, and operational guardrails.
  4. Build and maintain lightweight processes and SOPs that support consistency and scale without introducing unnecessary complexity.
  5. Collaborate with ML and engineering teams to understand how human-generated outputs are used in training, evaluation, or validation workflows.
  6. Monitor program health, identify execution gaps or bottlenecks, and drive corrective actions.
  7. Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and evolving requirements while maintaining operational rigor and delivery discipline.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. 4+ years of professional experience in program management, operations, product operations, or similar roles.
  2. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with hands-on ownership.
  3. Proven experience building processes or workflows from scratch and evolving them over time.
  4. Experience coordinating execution across multiple contributors or teams.
  5. Strong proficiency with Google Workspace tools, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  6. Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. Exposure to human-in-the-loop, job-based, or AI-supported workflows.
  2. Familiarity with using data to track program performance and inform decisions.
  3. Experience with scripting, automation, or tooling to improve operational efficiency.
  4. Familiarity with large cross-functional or enterprise systems and tools.
  5. Experience supporting globally distributed or localized programs.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$106,000 per year - USD$118,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
