About the Role

Global Intelligent Operations (GiO) is helping Uber move toward a more AI-native operating model by turning data, intelligence, and automation into real operational impact. As Manager, Strategy & Planning, you will play a central role in making that happen by ensuring GiO’s priorities translate into clear plans, strong execution, and visible outcomes.

This role supports the Intelligent Portfolio and Strategy Lead and acts as the connective tissue across GiO initiatives. You’ll help structure complex work, sequence efforts across teams, and keep the portfolio moving with discipline and clarity. Success in this role comes from bringing order to ambiguity, aligning strategy with execution reality, and helping leadership clearly understand what’s progressing, what’s blocked, and why.

What You'll Do

  • Translate strategy into execution: Turn GiO priorities into clear plans, milestones, and success measures that execution teams can realistically deliver against
  • Own the Ops AI opportunity backlog: structuring large initiatives into clear workstreams, tracking dependencies and progress across the portfolio, and surfacing trade-offs, resourcing constraints, and execution risks early to keep delivery on track
  • Partner closely with technical leads: Work with Solution Architecture & Enablement, Product AI, Data Engineering, and AI/ML Engineering teams to ensure plans align with technical realities, sequencing, and delivery capacity.
  • Support governance and planning cadences: Prepare clear, concise updates for QBR, MBRs, SteerCos, planning reviews, and leadership forums, focused on decisions, progress, and outcomes
  • Operational storytelling: Translate complex work into clear, actionable narratives that help operators, users, and leaders understand impact, priorities, and trade-offs.

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, planning, operations, analytics, or consulting in a fast-paced, global or multi-region environment
  • Strong ability to structure ambiguous problems and turn them into clear, actionable plans
  • Demonstrated interest in AI systems and modern analytics, with the curiosity and discipline to keep up with a fast-moving AI landscape through reading, experimentation, and practical application
  • Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Ops, or Finance
  • Proven ability to produce clear, executive-ready narratives in both written and presentation form
  • High ownership mindset with the drive to push work forward, unblock teams, and make progress in dynamic environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience with coding or analytical tools (e.g., Cursor, Python, notebooks, or similar) and comfort getting hands-on when needed
  • Experience working in platform, operations, or tech-enabled teams
  • Comfort working with data and metrics to track execution and performance
  • Strong judgment on prioritization, sequencing, and trade-offs
  • Bias toward action, ownership, and follow-through in complex environments
