Senior Regional Operations Manager, Trust and Safety
About the Role
Uber's IndiaSA Safety Operations Team is dedicated to reducing incidents and improving safety for all of our users on the platform. As part of this role, you'll work with the regional rides leadership, the global Safety Operations team and other key functions such as Policy and Legal to support the business in achieving its safety objectives in line with community and regulatory expectations.
You'll be working in a unique, fast paced and agile environment, requiring you to think outside the 'traditional safety box' to develop new and innovative ways to better manage safety through leveraging our technology and data. You will interpret safety data, recommend action, manage delivery of products and technological solutions and inform the integration of safety policies and standards.
The right candidate is a self-starter who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. You should love to hack solutions together and think creatively to solve operationally complex problems.
The Impact You'll Have
- Raise the bar on safety for our riders and drivers, by bringing in new ideas and best practice from other similar industries with the aim of improving trust in Ubers commitment to safety
- Develop and execute campaigns and other programmes with a view to improving safety for women on the Uber platform. Track legislative, regulatory and broader societal developments around women's safety in India SA. Use these insights to develop thoughtful policies and provide guidance on the safety implications of Uber's products, services, and features.
- Deep diving on what factors drives up the user’s safety sentiment and how to improve our safety communication using these factors
- Work with product and engineering teams to build innovative technology solutions that support our safety operations and reduces safety incidents on the platform
- Develop deep subject matter knowledge mastery of factors which contribute to increasing risk on the platform, and act as key point person / advisor for cross-functional issues and initiatives.
- Be the glue that brings teams together across Product, Legal, Policy, Marketplace, and driver Operations and other functions to drive decisions on strategically important questions relevant for incident safety, and deliver on shared goals and priorities.
- Work with leadership to set and evolve our strategic priorities for road safety in order to meet our safety and business objectives.
The Experience You'll Bring

- Data-driven decision-making ability & sound judgment through analytical thinking to assess project performance & business impact. Excel modelling skills necessary.
- 5+ years of operational/analytical/commercial experience gained in consulting, customer experience, or operations management
- The ability to clearly communicate and present information to stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Creative mindset that enjoys experimentation and is willing to take bold bets despite the risk of failure
- Experience creating and optimising processes
- Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment and adopt a generalist do-what-it-takes mindset
Bonus Points
- Proficiency in SQL a plus
- Prior experience in a similar industry or safety operations
