Associate Counsel - Mobility DACH
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious lawyer to join our team and provide legal advice for Uber’s mobility business in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with a primary focus on Germany. The position is based in Berlin, and reports to the Lead Counsel for the DACH region.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a global legal team that is integral to a company engaged in cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate with colleagues across EMEA and serve as a business partner by providing advice in areas that ensure we remain ahead of the curve and efficiently manage risk. This includes support on litigation, regulatory matters, and commercial transactions. You will also partner with the business on product development and marketplace efficiencies.
What You'll Do
- Advise on a broad range of regulatory and commercial topics related to mobility in ways that are practical, commercially-focused, and future-thinking.
- Manage litigation and regulatory matters.
- Draft and negotiate key strategic agreements and terms & conditions.
- Manage outside counsel and develop legal strategies.
- Counsel on consumer law-related matters and e-commerce law.
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, such as Business and Operations, Policy, Communications, Tax, Privacy, and Safety.
- This is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to handle significant and complex legal matters.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or the legal team of an international company.
- Admission to practice as a lawyer in Germany.
- Experience in providing legal advice on national and international matters.
- Native German speaker; business fluent in English. French is a plus.
- Excellent legal and business judgment, strong communication skills.
- A great team player.
