About the Role

We’re looking for a highly analytical and proactive Strategy & Planning Associate to join the Iberia S&P team at Uber Eats. This role offers a unique opportunity to own our competitive intelligence agenda across Spain and Portugal—helping us better understand our rivals, quantify opportunities, and generate the insights that drive winning decisions.

You’ll work at the intersection of business strategy and data, building the tools, dashboards, and models that empower our teams to act faster and smarter. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about analytics, marketplaces, and the challenge of scaling in a competitive environment.

About the Iberia Strategy & Planning Team

The Iberia S&P team serves as a critical enabler of market success in Spain and Portugal. We partner closely with the local leadership team and global functions to shape strategy and drive performance against our most important business objectives.

We proactively enable our markets by:

  • Driving high-quality decisions through competitive intelligence, insight generation, performance tracking, and leadership advisory

  • Accelerating strategic bets to unlock growth and competitive advantage

  • Facilitating cohesion across functions to ensure we row in the same direction

Key Responsibilities:

Competitive Intelligence

  • Lead the end-to-end competitive insights agenda & roadmap across Spain and Portugal.
  • Build and maintain robust SQL-based tools and dashboards to monitor competitor data & inform decision making
  • Manage the relationship with the global and regional competition teams and ensure our local needs are top of mind
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Ops) to embed competitive insights into strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Drive regular competitive performance reviews with our country LT and senior stakeholders, contextualizing Uber’s performance within the broader competitive landscape.
  • Conduct market and industry research to understand macroeconomics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape, driving actionable insights from data and facts.
  • Model competitor responses and scenario-planning for key investment and resource allocation decisions.

Generalist Strategy and Planning

  • Data-Driven Problem-Solving: Apply structured problem-solving approaches & frameworks, enriched by robust data analysis to tackle new and ambiguous problem statements, while bringing in best practice from experts in other regions & functions
  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to the Iberia Delivery leadership team on top-of-mind strategic initiatives, taking ownership of end-to-end problem statements, influencing critical stakeholders, and driving decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Planning & Governance: Own & drive  governance and planning initiatives for the Iberia Business, ensuring alignment with regional / global approaches and objectives & ensuring strong representation of the business in critical forums.

Basic Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in an analytics, strategy or operations role, preferably in a tech company or consultancy.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Google Sheets, including strong data visualisation & storytelling
  • Structured problem-solver with strong critical thinking and quantitative analysis capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders on new and changing topics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently as the end-to-end owner of a business critical topic
  • Passion for marketplaces, tech, and the online delivery space.
  • Fluent English is essential. Spanish and/or Portuguese is a big plus.
  • Willingness to travel within Iberia, between the Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon offices
