Sr. Strategy & Planning Associate, Uber Direct
About the Role
Uber Direct is one of Uber’s fastest-growing business lines, focused on last-mile delivery beyond the Uber Eats marketplace — including grocery, retail, e-commerce, and more. It empowers merchants to deliver orders from their own channels using Uber’s logistics network!
We’re looking for a Strategy & Planning Associate to support the LatAm Direct team, reporting to the Global Head of S&P. In this highly cross-functional role, you’ll serve as a strategic thought partner to regional leadership, help shape the direction of the business, and translate complex data into clear decisions, insights, and actions.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and enjoys operating at the intersection of data, strategy, storytelling, and stakeholder management. You’ll work closely with teams across operations, product, finance, and marketing, and own the regional business narrative, performance tracking, and decision-making frameworks that will shape the future of Uber Direct in LATAM.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Ownership: Lead the reporting cadence and business narrative for Uber Direct LATAM (MBRs, QBRs, newsletters), supporting annual planning and ad-hoc leadership asks
Business Planning: Drive regional alignment with global strategy by coordinating planning cycles and translating local insights into product and ops priorities
Governance & Accountability: Track OKRs, monitor performance, and build reporting infrastructure to ensure alignment and accountability
Stakeholder Influence: Act as a key strategic partner to LatAm Direct leadership, surfacing insights, shaping direction, and fostering alignment across functions
Advanced Deep Dives: Lead robust analysis on broad topics (e.g., profitability, product economics, batching strategy) to inform decisions and shape strategy
Problem Solving: Use data to break down ambiguous questions into actionable next steps — translating business challenges into scalable solutions
Project Coordination: Partner cross-functionally with Global and Regional teams to ensure critical initiatives land successfully in LATAM
What You’ll Need
4+ years of experience in strategy consulting, business operations, finance, banking, engineering, or equivalent analytical roles
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a “zero-to-one” ownership mindset
Proven ability to transform complex data into actionable insights and present them to stakeholders
Excellent business judgment and ability to operate autonomously
Advanced skills in SQL and Excel; ability to perform deep-dive analysis and build scalable reporting
Clear and compelling communication skills (verbal and written), especially when presenting to leadership
Collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally in matrixed organizations
Fluency in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-growth or early-stage teams, product ops, or strategy roles
Familiarity with delivery, logistics, marketplace or B2B product environments
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or business planning cycles
Proven ability to influence without authority in global settings
Comfort managing multiple workstreams in fast-changing environments
