Strategy & Operations Manager
About the Role
Uber is transforming the future of retail by building one of the world’s largest marketplaces for on-demand delivery across local commerce.
As part of the Global Merchant Operations team for Retail, you will help deliver an exceptional experience for merchants on the Uber platform. In this role, you will support merchants as they grow their businesses and provide a high-quality delivery experience to customers.
You will collaborate closely with local operations and commercial teams around the world, as well as Retail leadership and product teams. You will analyze operational data and merchant-facing products, and contribute to continuous improvements in processes, programs, and tools that empower merchants to succeed.
This role requires a balanced skill set that includes analytical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and operational execution. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, so this role is well suited for someone who is adaptable and able to manage both long-term initiatives and short-term improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute global, high-impact initiatives that support merchant growth on the Uber platform
- Shape merchant technology strategy by developing business cases for features that enhance the merchant product experience
- Analyze data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for local and cross-functional teams
- Build strong partnerships across teams including Community Operations, Local Operations, Business Development, Finance, and Product to bring informed perspectives to key challenges
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in operations, strategy, finance, consulting, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with SQL or willingness to learn
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational skills, with experience managing projects across multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field
- Experience in grocery, retail, or related industries
- Experience collaborating with product teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Advanced SQL skills
