Global Operations Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for a driven and collaborative Operations Manager to join our Groceries and Retail team within Global Marketplace. In this role, you’ll work on high-impact initiatives to ensure a reliable, efficient, and seamless experience across our platform. You'll help manage supply and demand imbalances, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions that create outstanding experiences for Uber customers, earners, and merchants.
This is a highly cross-functional role. You'll work closely with teams across Product, Tech, Finance, Legal, Regional Operations, and collaborate with peers in other Delivery lines of business (Restaurants, Direct, Connect). Together, you’ll shape and execute a marketplace strategy that delivers long-term value and supports Groceries and Retail growth.
We’re looking for someone who is analytically sharp, detail-oriented, and passionate about building scalable processes and frameworks that drive global operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Monitor marketplace performance: Set and track KPIs to ensure a healthy balance between supply and demand. Build dashboards and use data to proactively identify and forecast potential imbalances and reliability challenges.
Be a product advocate: Become a subject matter expert in Marketplace and Earner products. Identify opportunities for improvement, flag operational gaps, and advocate for product enhancements that support earner engagement and long-term success on the platform.
Generate actionable insights: Use data to dig into complex marketplace challenges, identify root causes, and develop practical, high-impact solutions. Balance a deep attention to detail with a clear understanding of the bigger picture.
Drive cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Product Ops teams to align on goals and deliver results. You’ll also collaborate with regional Marketplace and Earner experts to adapt global strategies to local needs, while scaling what works best.
What You’ll Need
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Operations, Product Management, Analytics, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience using tools like SQL, Excel, and Google Analytics.
SQL experience is a must.
A track record of making data-driven decisions and implementing scalable solutions.
Excellent communication skills—you can clearly explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Bonus Points
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Familiarity with Python for data analysis or automation.
