About the Role

As the Head of Growth for EMEA Retail Central Ops, you will own the regional strategy and execution for consumer demand, merchandising, and promotional efficiency. You are responsible for delivering scale and consistency across the consumer-facing functions of Central Operations, ensuring that growth tactics are standardized and effective across 15+ EMEA markets.

In this role, you will lead an organization of 8+ operations managers, providing direct leadership to 3 senior reports, including the functional leads for Consumer Operations and Merchandising. You will act as a strategic partner to Market General Managers, Strategy & Planning, Global Operations teams, and Product team.

What you'll do

  • Set Regional Growth Strategy: Define the regional operational strategy for consumer growth, focusing on acquisition, conversion, retention, and increasing platform stickiness.
  • Lead the Growth & Merchandising Pods: Manage and develop a team of 8, providing functional direction to the Consumer and Merchandising leads to synchronize execution across the region.
  • Manage Promotion & Economic Strategy: Oversee regional standards for promotional budgets and scheme design to drive cost-effective user engagement while maintaining margin health.
  • Drive Merchandising Excellence: Oversee the regional merchandising strategy across retail categories to ensure brand consistency and efficient execution of cross-market campaigns.
  • Market Accountability: Partner with Market GMs to drive performance across growth KPIs and manage end-to-end consumer operational execution for markets without local operations teams.
  • Senior Level Relationships: Represent the collective needs of EMEA Retail Consumer Ops and Merchandising with senior stakeholders across the business (Product, S&P, Global Operations, LT)

What you'll have

  • Consumer Growth Experience: 9+ years of relevant work experience, with 5+ years of consumer growth experience.
  • Consumer Promotion Strategy: Proven track record of managing promotional budgets and demand-side strategies, including user acquisition and retention, to fuel growth.
  • Merchandising & Category Management: Experience overseeing site merchandising, category management, or digital content curation to drive consumer engagement and conversion.
  • People Management: Experience managing high-performing teams, including experience managing other managers or senior leads.
  • Analytical Mindset: Be able to derive insights from complex datasets and synthesize recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and influence senior leadership to align on priorities.

Bonus points for

  • Sector Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the retail, grocery, or consumer-packaged goods industry - ideally in a marketplace delivery business - including an understanding of seasonality and local product trends.
  • Multi-Market Scope: Experience owning growth or merchandising strategy across multiple countries or a regional cluster.
  • Operational Design: Experience building or refining operational playbooks and standardized frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and data tools
