About the Role:

The Uber Global Relocation & Immigration (GRI) team is looking for a US Immigration Program Manager to own immigration service delivery and strategic compliance for the United States. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring US immigration compliance and a great experience for Uber stakeholders, relocating employees, and assignees.

The US Immigration Program Manager will report directly to the Global Immigration Program Manager. GRI designs and manages global mobility programs that enable our people to move where they need to go—efficiently and compliantly. We support the global movement of talent and their families through scalable and compliant mobility solutions.

In this role, you will partner closely with key regional and global stakeholders across the GRI team, Talent Acquisition, HR, business leaders, and Uber's external vendor partners to lead the immigration program for the US, ensuring compliance and a great stakeholder experience. You will operate with significant autonomy and play a key role in advancing strategic immigration initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner across the GRI team to tailor global immigration offerings to the specific talent needs of the US business, ensuring regional nuances are addressed while maintaining global consistency.
  • Build strong relationships with US-based stakeholders across Talent Acquisition, HR, and business leadership to strategically position GRI’s immigration services as a key enabler to achieving international talent priorities.
  • Proactively monitor the US regulatory landscape and lead impact analyses of legislative or policy changes; design and implement strategies to mitigate risk and protect the business.
  • Ensure consistent, compliant implementation of US immigration policies while driving operational efficiency and a strong employee experience.
  • Lead GRI’s immigration support for key US-based projects such as new entity set-up, maintaining legal readiness, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational restructures.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex case matters not resolved by Uber’s People Operations team or Uber’s vendor on-site support; identify scalable solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and contribute to global GRI projects that support the broader immigration program and the evolution of global mobility services.
  • Develop and deliver stakeholder education through training, documentation, and resources to increase program awareness and engagement.
  • Lead the regional relationship with Uber’s US immigration vendor. Partner with them to execute strategy, ensure case SLAs are being met, and monitor regional invoices and billing.
  • Analyze program metrics to drive process improvements that increase speed, quality, compliance, and cost efficiency, including automation opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of US global mobility experience.
  • Deep expertise in US employment-based immigration, including Nonimmigrant visa categories (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, F-1 OPT, etc.) and immigrant visa programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing external vendors within a large-scale, outsourced global mobility program.
  • Experience in an in-house corporate environment, across immigration, relocation, and tax.
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence within a complex, global matrix organization using data-driven insights.
  • Working knowledge of mobility tax and relocation program design.
  • Experience designing or evolving mobility and immigration programs.
