Strategic Finance Associate - Commops
About the Role
As a member of Uber’s Strategic Finance team, you'll be at the center of scaling our financial reporting, analytics, and planning capabilities. Your work will empower decision-makers across multiple business units and functions, driving real-time, data-informed decisions that help Uber grow, scale, and improve profitability.
You’ll play a key role in delivering actionable insights, building robust financial models, and contributing to high-impact strategic and operational initiatives. Your contributions will directly support our global platform — helping couriers, restaurants, and drivers thrive every day.
What You'll Do
- Financial & Operational Planning: Partner with leadership to build financial forecasts and set operational goals.
- Business Partnership: Use sound business judgment and financial insights to guide decisions on new initiatives, products, and opportunities.
- Advanced Financial Modeling: Break down complex problems and build scalable models from scratch, as well as enhance existing ones.
- Strategic Execution: Collaborate closely with your team to turn insights into operational outcomes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Work with accounting to align on management reporting needs and deepen understanding of actual performance.
- Stay curious and continuously develop new technical skills to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial and/or analytical roles (e.g., FP&A, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or business operations).
- Strong proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Prior financial and/or analytical experience including FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional analytical skills — you know how to build models that are clean, scalable, and insightful.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — you can explain the “why” behind the numbers.
- A self-starter mindset — you take initiative and drive results.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- A true team player — collaborative, helpful, and motivated to support others.
- Detail-oriented, with a bias for action and execution.
- Basic understanding of GAAP.
- Experience with financial planning systems, SQL, or statistical software (a plus, not required).
