Strategic Partners Manager, Retail

Account Management, Sales & Account Management
in San José, Costa Rica

About the Role

The Strategic Partner Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of Uber’s most strategic enterprise and mid-market retail partners in Central America & Caribbean (ACAC), directly influencing market-level growth, revenue performance, and long-term partner success.

This is a highly commercial, data-driven role that combines strategic account management, advanced analytics, and growth acceleration initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial instinct alongside exceptional analytical capabilities, with the ability to independently identify opportunities, build insights-driven strategies, and influence senior stakeholders through data-backed recommendations.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to some of the most important grocery and convenience partners in the region, helping shape growth strategies across Retail Media, Merchant Investment frameworks, Catalog Transformation, and New Vertical Expansion initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys going beyond BAU, takes initiative, and brings both strategic thinking and executional rigor to complex business challenges.

What the Selected Candidate Will Do

  1. Own and grow a portfolio of strategic top partners, driving sustainable revenue growth, retention, and long-term partnership value.
  2. Develop advanced data frameworks and custom dashboards (e.g., Google Sheets, Tableau, internal tools) to monitor performance, identify trends, and unlock actionable insights across key metrics (conversion, basket size, cancellations, adoption).
  3. Lead deep-dive analyses to diagnose performance gaps, identify root causes, and translate findings into structured, high-impact action plans for partners and internal teams.
  4. Build and scale business intelligence tools and reporting systems that improve visibility, decision-making, and commercial performance across the portfolio.
  5. Leverage data-driven storytelling to influence senior stakeholders and justify incremental investments in advertising, promotions, and growth levers (Ads, Offers, etc.).
  6. Drive retail media adoption and monetization strategies, using performance insights to optimize investment allocation and maximize ROI.
  7. Develop and execute joint business plans (JBPs) grounded in data, aligning commercial priorities with measurable performance outcomes.
  8. Act as the primary escalation point for complex operational and strategic issues, using data and structured problem-solving to drive resolution.
  9. Influence and align cross-functional teams (Operations, Product, Analytics, Marketing) through clear, data-backed insights and scalable solutions.

Basic Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial, account management, business development, or growth roles within grocery, retail, e-commerce, CPG, marketplace, or technology environments.

  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, including dashboard creation, automation, modeling, and reporting.
