About the Role
The HR Shared Services (HRSS) Generalist provides operational HR support as part of the Uber Center of Excellence (COE). This role operates as a flexible, universal support function, handling work across multiple queues based on business needs, including HR inquiries, mobility eligibility checks, and background check adjudication. The role also supports continuous improvement by contributing insights that enhance the employee experience.
Your Impact in Role:
- Universal Support Operations: Provide flexible support across HRSS queues, addressing new cases and backlogs based on business needs, volume spikes, and priority requirements.
- HRIS & Employee Data Management: Maintain and update employee data in Uber's Human Capital Management (HCM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems with a high level of accuracy. Process data changes such as job updates, organizational changes, and compensation adjustments while ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Background Check Adjudication: Review and assess background check results, ensuring alignment with guidelines. Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with relevant stakeholders as needed.
- General Support & Compliance: Respond to employee inquiries through ticketing systems, escalate issues when necessary, and collaborate with stakeholders for resolution. Ensure adherence to SLAs, data integrity, and compliance standards.
- Insights Contribution: Identify trends and contribute actionable insights to help improve processes and enhance the overall employee experience.
- Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks as required by the business to support day-to-day operations.
The Experience You'll Bring:
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of prior experience in Customer Service, HR Shared Services, internal HR (recruitment, payroll, benefits, background screening, etc.), or an outsourced HR environment handling complex tasks such as employee data management, contracts lifecycle management, or document compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to ensuring data integrity and confidentiality, operating well under pressure and strict deadlines.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook) or Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Documents, Drive).
- Strong customer service and administrative experience; very technically savvy.
- Good stakeholder and task management, with the ability to maintain professionalism and respect toward team members, partners, and customers.
- Must be amenable to work on different shifts, weekends, and holidays (schedules may change every quarter or depending on business needs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferably 1 to 3 years of prior experience in Customer Service, HR Shared Services, internal HR, or an outsourced HR environment handling complex tasks such as employee data management, contracts lifecycle management, or document compliance.
- Oracle experience and/or experience from a ticketing system (such as iCIMS or Workday) or an HR application as an admin user is a plus.
